Valentine’s Day Minis | Studio Mini Session in Fishers, Indiana

A bit late on posting these, but I just had to share the Valentine’s Day minis from earlier in February! We had one family session with two fun and sweet little girls, and one maternity session for some of our close friends! Both studio mini sessions were taken in our studio here in Fishers, Indiana. Although these were for Valentine’s Day, we decided to keep the set up simple and classic, with a few touches of festivity (you’ll see what I mean)!

To let y’all in on a little secret, I’ve actually never loved Valentine’s Day. I totally thought it was a “Hallmark holiday” designed to make more sales. But, honestly, I just really needed to change my mindset toward the day. I mean, why not show your people some extra love?? It doesn’t need to cost a thing!! Especially now that we have Olivia, we loved getting her a little Valentine’s Day basket (of dollar store activities – we didn’t go nuts lol) and emphasize how much we love her and how special she is to us. Nate and I usually do our own little Valentine’s Day tradition that we love as well. I used to work late nights each Valentine’s Day when I worked in event planning, so we would have a romantic Taco Bell dinner every year. And it’s one of my favorite traditions we have!

What I love about these photos is that they weren’t posed or even planned, they just authentically happened. We didn’t even know we got some of them until post-processing! The camera caught snippets we didn’t even see with our eyes. And that’s when I feel like I’m doing my job the best and doing your family the most justice.

Since taking these, Ross & Alli had their precious baby girl!! I am so thrilled for them and so glad they’ll have these photos to look back on this sweet season of their life! Don’t forget to document even the small moments! When we look back, those are actually the big moments 🙂
